Don’t do this for your college applications
"The King Holiday and Service Act of 1994" makes it clear that this day is not only about looking back, but doing something today in service of the present needs and future goals of our community. In passing this bill, Democrats and Republicans showed that "with a little faith and a lot of hard work, they could reach across the partisan divide," said President Clinton as he signed this bill into law.
This is a day of national service. Students, don't just do it for your college applications. Do it for your country.
