If You’re Disappointed
Did you get disappointing news in March? If I had been accepted at what I thought was my first-choice of university for graduate study (story for another day), I would not have taken my Danforth fellowship to Paris.
My two years of graduate study in Paris made me a different thinker and a different person.
I'm not saying it was easy. It was not easy.
I thought of you all today at lunch at the Relais de Venise, a New York restaurant that reminds me of Paris. Across from me sat my husband, whom I met when we were students in Paris.
You don't know what lies before you.
