PSAT for 10th graders?
Parents of college-bound students! I have an opinion about the PSAT. You can listen to it or read below.
Is your child registered for the PSAT? It’s coming up in October.
“Oh, but Dr. Corcoran,” they sometimes tell me. “That’s only for 11th-graders.”
No, actually! A 10th-grader can take it.
Then they say, “Well, it’s only for practice.”
Well, get in there and practice! It’s true that for 10th grade, the PSAT does not count for the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. But there’s no reason not to start right now getting used to taking standardized tests.
If your school is fully booked with 11th-graders, you can take a practice test at home.
