The “common” part of the Common Application

Is your teenager submitting college applications that are due today? Well, by 11:59 pm? Here's an important reminder.

In the rush to finish essays, it's easy to forget that it's not only about what the student writes or checks off for an individual college.

Double-check the parts that are submitted to the Common Application by other people. Make sure the "common" part of the Common Application is complete according to the requirements of each school.

One important detail concerns teacher's recommendations. Make sure you have complied with the instructions on how many and which recommendations to send.

You probably know how to do this by now, but remember to remain calm and, if possible, have a parent or guardian check all the moving parts before the student hits submit.
